With growing interest amongst members in 7mm, the club have embarked on a new finescale 7mm layout - currently without a name.

The members involved in this layout have between them already amassed a large number of wagons, therefore the focus of the new layout will be either a large wagon fed warehouse or possibly a wagon repair facility - the requirement being to exhibit a wide variety of wagons and do plenty of shunting.

Baseboards: baseboard construction is of orthodox methods - ply on a ply frame with self contained legs. Each board measures 4ft wide by 2ft6in deep. 4 boards form the scenic section giving a total display width of 16ft plus fiddle yards.

Trackwork: Track is being constructed by club members - most of whom have not attempted such before therefore a series of instructional sessions led by the most experienced member are being held. Trackwork is being built using C&L finescale components.

A more recent image including the detritus of layout building. The boards have been covered with underlay and the process of glueing the track down has just begun. We intend to use tortoise point motors (green cube shaped object currently lying loose) - time will tell if we have made the service access holes on the drop boards large enough..
